In 2014, we opened our doors at KIPP East to 100 kindergarten students and their families. Five years later, we are now a PK-8th, growing to be a full pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Our vision is to offer a truly excellent education for families in New Orleans East, an area of New Orleans that has historically not had first-class options.

Since opening in 2014, KIPP East has proudly served the families of New Orleans East. Our mission is to offer a truly excellent education, empowering our students with opportunities to thrive academically and personally. We promise that we will always do our best to support your child or children to and through college. While college may seem a long way off, we believe it is our shared responsibility to ensure that our students are set up with the knowledge, skills, character, and habits necessary to graduate from college and positively shape our community and our world. We recognize that reaching this goal will take a tremendous amount of teamwork on the part of our families, our staff, and our students, and we appreciate your support of the school.
One of our guiding principles is that we work as a team and are accountable for all kids, and you feel this in the building. Teachers collaborate to solve problems and do what’s best for kids.
Our team is truly exceptional. Teachers collaborate with one another and work to support the needs of all of our students. We consist of a team of true professionals that love this work and care deeply about their kids’ success.
We focus on small group academic instruction, with opportunities for both remediation and extension. We pride ourselves on our accelerated programs and our high reading and math groups.
It is the mission of KIPP East to grow — in each and every one of our students — the character, intellect, and habits necessary to graduate from college and positively shape our community and our world.
