A Century of Black History. A Legacy That Still Leads. ✊🏾❤️💛💚
At Frederick A. Douglass High School, our Bobcats honored the 100th anniversary of Black History Month with a celebration rooted in pride, power, and purpose. ❤️💚💛 The program opened with a beautiful rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing by Ms. Blunt and music artist Akeem. 🎶 Our scholars boldly declared their BOBCAT IDENTITY:
“Bobcats are the hardest-working and smartest-working people in the city of New Orleans. We will not be outworked. PERIOD.” 🐾💚
Students paid homage to icons like James Baldwin, Michelle Obama, and Nina Simone, while the KNOS Regional Choir lifted the room in song. 🎤 The celebration also highlighted the legacy of HBCUs and the Divine Nine of the National Pan-Hellenic Council — honoring a tradition of scholarship, service, and unity that continues to shape Black culture across generations. ❤️💛💚
And of course, we closed it out Swag Surf style. 🌊

From the first touch of the handlebars to the final helmet snap, our KIPPsters were all smiles, standing a little taller and soaking in a moment they’ll remember for a long time.😊
This special experience was made possible through Impact 4 Good, @impact4goodcsr an organization that turns corporate team-building events into meaningful community giveback opportunities, and their client, @hartmannusa . What began as a team activity ended in real impact for students right here in New Orleans. 🚲💪🏾
