KIPP New Orleans

Diversity Equity and Inclusion

In pursuit of our mission, we commit to model the world we wish to see by building a diverse and inclusive organization.

Our Commitment

KIPP New Orleans Schools is dedicated to preparing our students for success in college and life, and we are committed to building a better world for and with our KIPPsters.

Our strength, resolve, health as a team and family, productivity, effectiveness, and the quality of our decisions are all rooted in our diversity. We strive to create an environment in which every member of our team can bring their full identity and experience to the work.

We embrace, honor, and celebrate our differences across race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender orientation, physical abilities, socio-economic class, and other characteristics that construct our unique identities.

We are especially committed to attracting and developing individuals who share the life experiences of our students because we believe the best work we do is grounded in the realities and experiences of our families and KIPPsters in New Orleans.

Staff Diversity

KIPP New Orleans Schools is committed to creating an environment where staff who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) are best positioned to succeed in their roles and progress in their careers. As of the 2022-23 school year, [insert percentage] of our teachers and [insert percentage] of our school leaders identify as BIPOC. We strive for continued growth of BIPOC staff in order to create a workforce that reflects our student population in New Orleans. To create accountability and move forward together, KIPP New Orleans Schools staff participate in a variety of trainings and affinity spaces focused on anti-racism and social justice.
